Ramie is one of the oldest natural fibres, derived from the Urtica plant, also known as the nettle plant. It has a crisp hand feel and a subtle lustre, similar to linen, yet with even greater strength. Naturally breathable and lightweight, ramie lends structure and character to a garment while softening beautifully over time.

Its slightly textured surface and visible fibres are part of its charm, giving each piece an understated, organic quality.


HOW TO CARE FOR YOUR RAMIE PIECE

Washing
Ramie can be hand-washed or machine-washed on a gentle cycle in cold or lukewarm water. Always use a mild detergent without bleach to protect the natural fibres.

To minimise creasing, avoid overloading the machine and remove the garment promptly after the cycle ends.


After washing
Hang to air dry or lay flat to maintain the garment’s shape. Ramie can wrinkle easily — this is part of its natural character — but it responds well to ironing.
Iron on medium heat while the fabric is slightly damp, or use steam to smooth it. Avoid high heat, which may weaken the fibres over time.
