Silk is a very special natural fiber. It is in fact the only filament fiber produced by nature itself. It’s soft, lustrous, and smooth to the touch. It is considered a durable fabric, and it consists of 100% natural material. We use only 100% Italian silk from our entrusted local supplier with whom we have developed close, long-term working relationships, proudly supporting localism.
HOW TO CARE FOR YOUR SILK PIECE
Washing
Opt for cold hand wash. Place your silk garment in cold water with a mild silk-friendly detergent. Leave to soak, then swish the garment slowly and gently. To rinse, use cold water – you can add a teaspoon of white vinegar, this will remove excess detergent, soften the silk and restore its luster.
After washing
Do not wring it to avoid damage. Lay it flat to dry, rolling it in a towel to absorb any lingering moisture, if needed. Hang and store your silk piece in a cool, dry place. You don’t need to wash your silk after every wear. The fabric does not absorb odors, from time to time some good air is all it takes to keep your garments fresh. Use a steamer for best results and care. If ironing, always turn delicate garments inside out and use a cool setting as heat can damage the fragile fibers.
